The BM05 series brushless servo motors provide a choice of size and performance with output power ratings up to 130 watts. The brushless construction combined with high grade ball bearings provide a very long life in applications requiring a variable speed drive at high continuous torque. The units utilise a 3 phase design with hall effect commutation combined with an internal rotor incorporating high energy magnets to provide optimum power transmission. The provision of a rear shaft enables a choice of encoders to be readily fitted to provide a position reference as well as commutation signals for a use with more sophisticated servo drive system if required.

Equipped with a NEMA 23 size mounting flange and shaft design, the BM05 Brushless motors are physically interchangeable with hybrid stepper motors. Using the standard B5 brushless drive the motors provide a bi-directional variable speed capability up to 3000 rpm with peak torque ratings in excess of 0.9Nm for rapid acceleration. In this form they are ideally suited for small conveyor drives, pump drives, printing and paper handling applications as well as general purpose industrial drives requiring variable speed and long life.

Two gearboxes are available from stock that fit directly to BM05 motors. The programme provides the choice of heavy duty spur or planetary gearing systems that together offer torque ratings up to 25Nm and speeds down to 3 rpm. For long life low speed high torque applications, the specification of a BLDC58 brushless DC motor in combination with an IP57 high strength planetary gearhead is ideal, providing high performance within a compact outline. This unit, which utilises precision cut metal gear stages throughout, provides high performance and compact dimensions compatible with the NEMA 23 size standards. The unit is provided with a choice of output shafts including an option with a tapped end to simplify the mounting of pulleys etc.

The BC10A brushless drive module provides two quadrant variable speed control of the BM05 and BM08 brushless motors, operating in conjunction with hall effect commutation.
