MSE40 Modular DC Servo Amplifier Modular DC Servo Amplifier MSE40

The MSE40 DC Servo Amplifier module is ideally suited to instrumentation applications. 6-12W output power, maximum continuous current 1.0A. The MSE40 series DC Servo amplifier is ideally suited to instrumentation applications that require accurate velocity or positional control using analogue control techniques. The unit is a circuit board module designed for incorporation in customers control cabinets. It can be used in conjunction with the DC power supply module type MSE47 which will power up to three MSE40 axes depending on the application's load requirements. Two amplifier models are available, type MSE40 providing a maximum 0.5 Amps while MSE40-1 provides a maximum 1.0 amp output to the servo motor. The MSE40 series are "in-service proven" amplifiers which have established a reputation for many years trouble-free service when used with the range of instrument servo motors and geared motor units.

  • Features include -
  • Bi-directional control
  • Current limit circuit to protect the motor
  • Voltage and current feedback
  • Adjustable amplifier gain and current feedback
  • Suitable for both positional and velocity control applications
  • Reference supply outputs for external circuitry
MSE47 power supply for the MSE40 Servo Amplifier MSE47 Power Supply for the MSE40 Modular DC Servo Amplifier

The MSE47 power supply unit is specifically designed for the MSE40 DC Servo Amplifier modules. It has two unregulated and fused DC outputs of +/-20V (nominal) rated at 1.5A total, capable of supplying one MSE40-1 (1A) or three MSE40 (0.5A) servo channels at full power (60VA). The mains input can be either 230Vac or 115Vac depending on pcb link selection. All of the power supply components including the fuse holders are mounted on a 2.5mm glass fibre pcb with 4 x M4 threaded pillars for chassis mounting. The connections to the MSE47 are made via removable connectors with "rising clamp" style screw terminals. Designed for chassis mounting.

MSE421 Linear DC Servo Amplifier Linear DC Servo Amplifier MSE421

Packaged on a standard extended Eurocard format, the MSE421 "Euroamp 60" provides a continuous output power rating up to 60 watts with precise servo control of DC Servo Motors. Operating from a single rail supply which enables battery operation if required, the unit utilises MOSFET linear output stages for virtually zero electrical emissions, improved smoothness of motor operation with increased motor life. Unlike other drives the MSE421 can be used with low inductance motors without the need for an additional choke. The MSE421 DC Servo Amplifier uses surface mount technology for compact overall size and high reliability, with its differential amplifier input stage incorporates control technology based on many years experience in servo system design.

  • Features -
  • Adjustable peak output current up to 4 amps
  • Independently adjustable continuous output current up to 2 amps
  • Choice of velocity control using armature voltage sensing or tacho feedback
  • Optional torque control or positional control using analogue positional feedback signal
  • Plug-in personality header to match the drive to specific motor characteristics
  • Optional automatic velocity ramp for smooth starts using stepped input signal change
  • Directionally sensitive end of travel limit signal inputs
  • Remote enable signal input
  • Front panel adjustments of servo loop constants and diagnostic LED for easy commissioning
DCD60 Series Mini-Maestro Servo Amplifiers DCD60 "Mini-Maestro" Servo Amplifiers

The DCD60 "Mini-Maestro" 0.1-0.8kW modular DC Servo Amplifiers provide an ideal control solution for light industrial applications which require accurate servo control. The units are ideally suited to applications using analogue control techniques or as the drive element of a digitally controlled system when used in conjunction with the PM600 "Digiloop" motion controller. A choice of DCD60 units provide continuous current ratings from 3 to 14 Amps and precise servo control of DC Servo Motors equipped with a DC Tachogenerator. Operating from a single rail supply that enables battery operation if required, the units utilise 4 quadrant PWM output stages. Mini-Maestro drives are standard Eurocard modules utilising surface mount technology to provide compact overall size and high reliability, with its differential amplifier based input stage incorporates advanced control technology.

MSB Series Motherboards MSB Series Motherboards

The MSB series of system motherboards providing solder-free termination for the Mclennan range of Eurocard drives and controls. Utilising "Rising clamp" removeable connectors for ease of connection and servicing they simplify the interconnection of our Eurocard based Drive and Control modules. They provide a convenient means of connecting the supplies, motors, encoders, lmits and other external signals and facilitate the interconnection of drive and control signals using solder-free screw terminals. MSB Series motherboards are fitted to the back rails of standard 19in 3U high Euroracks, they incorporate all the mating connectors for the appropriate drive or control module together with plug-in screw terminal blocks for simple connection to the overall systems wiring loom. The use of the appropriate motherboard reduces the possibility of errors in interconnection of the drive and control modules resulting in increased system reliability and reduced commissioning time.
