The P5 series of AC synchronous motors utilise two coils and an external phasing capacitor to enable the direction of rotation to be electrically controlled. The 12 pole motor design provides low fixed speed operation with the consequential benefit of low operating noise and smooth rotation at a constant speed, synchronous with the mains supply frequency. Choice of standard gear ratios for output speeds of 1 revolution per second to 1 revolution per hour at torques up to 100Ncm.

MRIG series of geared AC Synchronous Motors provide accurate fixed speed operation with high torque capability. The brushless nature of the AC Synchronous Motor coupled with its low speed operation provides a combination of long maintenance free life and quiet operation. Together with the high torque capacity of the MIRG gearhead it results in a unit which is ideally suited to heavy duty instrumentation or light duty industrial fixed speed drives. Direction of rotation is electrically reversible by the use of a simple switch and a phasing capacitor as shown in the data sheet connection diagram. Geared Synchronous motor combination.
