Technical Support Engineer
The candidate will be a self-motivated, organised individual with a strong knowledge of Electronic Engineering. A good understanding on motion control and programming techniques would also be required. Plus an understanding on basic physics (for motion equations, motor powers, inertias etc.) would also be required.
General days to day activities would be to support customer and production team with technical and practical support. Develop software ranging from small modules to complete machine controls. System design integration and work onsite with customers to commission motion systems and software. A technical qualification equivalent to an HNC, a degree in engineering or science or better, or be able to demonstrate practical experience will be required.
Ability to communicate on a wide range of technical levels and to systematically solve problems is vital. They must develop and maintain a high level of service to customers. They will be required to attend customer meetings with Sales managers as and when required. Assisting Sales managers with customer quotations and write functional design specifications with customers.
The candidate must possess a confident manner both on the telephone and in face to face situations, pus be capable of operating under pressures, provided by tight deadlines and customer application problems.
Confidence with computer systems is essential, programming software, CAD and schematic drawing packages and experience of Microsoft Office and contact databases and stock management systems (we use Sapphire V12) would be an advantage.
The position is office based our offices in Ash Vale, Surrey – the candidate should be located within easy travelling distance.
A salary will be offered according to candidates experience and qualifications, a route to a pension scheme will be provided and travel on a company business will be funded by the company.
