RoHS

The European Union directive 2011/65/EU, Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, commonly known as the "RoHS" directive, prohibits the sale in the European Union of Electrical and Electronic equipment containing more than certain minimum levels of 6 hazardous substances -

Cadmium (Cd) Lead (Pb) Mercury (Hg) <0.10%
Hexavalent Chromium (Cr Vi) <0.10%
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) <0.10%
Polybrominated Diphenylethers (PBDE) <0.10%

What we're doing about RoHS -
Mclennan Servo Supplies are actively working to comply with the RoHS directive on or before July 2006 with an extensive review of all our products and designs.   At this time, however, we cannot set specific release dates for new RoHS-compliant products because of the tentative schedule for the availability and delivery of RoHS-compliant components to us from our suppliers.   We do not envisage a change in part numbering of our products as they achieve RoHS status.   The RoHS status of a product will be suitably marked as shown on the right as they are assessed.

WEEE

The European Union directive 2012/19/EU, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, commonly known as the "WEEE" directive, regulates the disposal of Electrical and Electronic Equipment through defined recovery channels.   The directive came into force on the 13th of August 2005.   It aims to minimise WEEE and to encourage the reuse, recycling and recovery of WEEE and to improve the environmental performance of all operators involved in the life cycle of all electrical and electronic equipment.

What we're doing about WEEE -
In accordance with the WEEE directive, Mclennan Servo Supplies will be marking all relevant products with the prescribed "crossed wheelie bin" symbol as shown on the right.   Disposal of items so marked must be through the correct channels for WEEE.   They should not be directly disposed of in landfill or by other non defined methods.

These items can be passed to your local waste electrical recycling service or returned to Mclennan Servo Supplies for end of life disposal under the WEEE directive, contact Mclennan Servo Supplies for further information about this service.
