Mclennan stock and supply a variety of Integrated stepper motors, from a number of different suppliers. These range from the basic motor/drives which will accept clock and direction signals, to the more complex standalone programmable motor/controllers, which allow you to accurately position a stepper motor over a variety of protocols. The sizes range from as small as a Nema11 up to the larger Nema34.

An Integrated stepper motor combines the torque, stability and precision of a hybrid stepper motor but with a in-built drive and controller. This combination will allow you to accurately position a stepper motor over many a wide range of control methods and comms . FAQs 

Will an Integrated motor reduce my cabling?

Yes, a big part of the design for integrated units is the ability to reduce cabling and simplify the cable management. Traditionally, if you had a motor encoder you would need to wire all connections through your system all to the way to the drive cabinet. This would not only be complex and time consuming, but it could also create many problems; electrical noise and incorrect wiring to name but a few.  The integrated option allows you to simple supply each motor/drive with a power, comms and I/O cable, typically as an M12 coded connection, which not only reduces the amount of connections, but the coded design allows for plug and play connections. In addition, daisy chaining between drives is possible. 

Do Integrated stepper motors support STO functions?

STO is available on a wide range of our integrated stepper motors. The STO Function can be used for disabling power to the motor when a an input  or state is activated, thereby allowing the motor to produce no torque. This would need to be specified as the motor will have its own input connector mounted at the front of the motor. It is a two input system and it is required that both inputs are activated (applied with a voltage) before the motor is energized and can operate normally.

Can you have a true closed loop integrated stepper motor?

Yes, Mclennan can supply a wide range of true closed loop stepper motors. The true closed loop function allows for higher performance and efficiency with quieter operating noise(db)
